Savannah can be HOT and humid! Keep that in mind when planning your trip. I was nervous when planning a February wedding – I even bought my bridesmaids a fur shawl to keep them from being too cold. It ended up being a beautiful, sunny day in the 70’s!

What’s the weather like in Savannah?

If you enjoy mild weather, blooming flowers, and festive events, spring or fall would be ideal. If you prefer fewer crowds and lower rates, summer or winter may be more suitable.

• Summer temperatures hit in the 70s to 90s Fahrenheit – a good excuse to spend a lot of time indoors as the humidity can be brutal!
• In the winter months, the temperatures are often mild. The temperatures range from the 30s to 60s Fahrenheit.
• Spring and autumn are great times to visit as the weather is perfect! Temperatures range between 40s to 70s Fahrenheit.
• If you’re after a cheap flight, then go in late winter (February).

How long do you need?

There’s so much you can see and do in Savannah. The more time, the better!

• A day trip: Unless you have something very specific in mind, there’s too much to see and enjoy!
• A short and packed weekend: You are able to see the main highlights in a quick weekend getaway. It’s enough for you to want to return!
• Two to Four days: This is the perfect amount of time to see all the major landmarks, hit the shops, and really experience the city at your own leisurely pace.

Which is the best airport to fly to?

Savannah has one major airport with many other airports nearby:

• Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is located 15 miles northwest of downtown Savannah.
• If you’re shopping around, look at flights to Charleston International Airport (CHS). It’s located about 105 miles from historic Savannah.
