Finding the best purse for travel can be a challenge.
I LOVE my Travelon Anti-Theft Crossbody Purse.
It’s by far the best purse I’ve owned for trips (and even around town).
I purchased the Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Mini Shoulder Bag; however, Travelon has many other great options if this bag doesn’t fit your needs.
Considering the awesome reviews about the company, the Travelon Backpack even made the list of Best Travel Backpack for Women on Amazon.

Travelon is a brand you can trust
Located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Travelon is a trusted and reputable brand known for its commitment to providing innovative and secure travel solutions.

A Travel Purse with Great Security Features
The security features are the main reason I initially made my purchase.
The cross-body bag has a 5-Point Anti-Theft Security System that is very innovative and intuitive. I found the locking system quick and easy to use for getting in and out of my bag.
The 5-Point Anti-Theft Security System includes:
- Lock-Down Straps: The strap has a clip at one end so you can wrap your strap around something (like a chair) to secure it and prevent a thief from grabbing it and running.
- Locking Compartments: Help prevent pickpockets from getting into the bag. Locking zippered pulls secure the bag contents.
- Slash-Resistant Body: All four sides and the bottom of the purse have a slash-resistant mesh barrier.
- Slash-Resistant Straps: Help prevent slash-and-run theft with a stainless steel wire inside the strap.
- RFID Blocking Pockets: Help prevent electronic identity theft with RFID-blocking card slots and passport pockets.
A Travel Purse with Plenty of Space
The Travelon Crossbody Bag has plenty of space to hold your wallet, keys, phone, and some other small “extras.”
I love how the main compartment is simple.
Inside the Travelon bag, the main compartment has four credit card sleeves and two additional pockets.
Even with all of the storage space, the Travelon bag remains lightweight!!
A Travel Purse that is Lightweight
I love how the bag is also lightweight.
Because it is so lightweight, it is a great choice for people with back and/or shoulder problems.
It doesn’t pull on sore muscles and is more comfortable to carry on my shoulder than any other bag I own!!
A Travel Purse that is Durable
The Travelon anti-theft crossbody bag is made of durable water-resistant materials that make it easy to keep clean.
I have traveled around the world with this purse for two years and it still looks as great as the day I bought it.
Easily wipe off dust and debris using a damp towel!

Travelon Anti-Theft Crossbody Bag Pros
After purchasing this bag and using it on several trips, I really do think (in my honest opinion) that this is the best purse for travel.
Here’s an overview of the pros:
- Great security features with the Travelon 5-point anti-theft security system.
- It’s got plenty of space to carry everything you need for a day trip (including a travel guidebook and/or tablet).
- It’s lightweight.
- It’s durable.
- It’s comfortable.
- Affordable when purchased on Amazon.
Negatives of the Travelon Crossbody Purse
No travel purse is perfect.
You want to choose the one that best fits your needs and satisfies most of your must-have requirements.
The Travelon Crossover Bag fits my needs in that it’s secure, durable, and comfortable. And it’s a bit stylish too (however, some fashionistas may disagree)!
Here are a few things I don’t like:
- Lacks interior zipper pockets
- Credit card slots are not deep enough to securely hold cards
- The RFID blocking feature is only included in certain pockets of the purse (not the entire bag).
